  • After pressing the next button, choose the next screen’s “As a wireless range extender” option. Choose the wireless network to which you are currently logged in. A password entry prompt will then appear.

 

  • Select the manually selected “Enter Network name and password” option if you have a private network name. If not, wait a short while for it to detect and select the wireless network automatically.

  • The extended wireless password and network SSID must then be generated. You’ll then be taken to the location finder page. It can be used to measure the signal strength of the router and range extender.

  • Visit the main Linksys website now. The system will now look for the most recent firmware version. If it is found, the most recent version will be downloaded and installed right away.

 

  • You can now use the range extender option on your Linksys RE7000. Now it will read “Dual-Band” wireless Range extender in the top header. You’ll be able to access the device’s web interface once you’ve finished this.
